Locate and Insert Graphics as a File

You can add an image to illustrate a concept or enhance the appearance of your Web page. Study this example to learn the steps to add an image from the hard drive of your computer. 

Add an Image from your hard drive

1. Click the location where you want to add an image to your Web page

2. Click to add an image. The Picture dialog box appears as shown below.

3. The area boxed in red displays images you have previously added to you Web site. The picture we want isn't there, so to locate it on your computer, click . The Select File dialog box appears.

Important Note! If you want to add an image file from a Web page instead of a file from your hard drive, enter the URL of the image file in the text box to the right of URL: and then click OK.

4. The area outlined in red shows the location of the displayed files. You can click the down arrow to change the location to find the folder containing your desired image. 

5. The area outlined in green displays the images you can select. In our example, the image named J Roseboom, Co D, is selected. Confirm this image appears in the text box to the right of File Name.

6. Then click OK to confirm your selection. The image appears on your Web page.
