Delores White
Dolores White, composer and pianist, received a Bachelor of Music degree
in piano from Oberlin
College Conservatory, and a Master of Music degree in piano and
composition from the Cleveland Institute of Music,
where she studied with Ruth Edwards and Dr. Kurzbaum. Additional studies
were done at the Juilliard School of Music with James Friskin, at Howard
University with Cecil Cohen, at Columbia Teachers' College with Robert
Pace, and at Ohio State University with Thomas Wells. Dolores White is a
composer of choral and instrumental music. In 1986 she won second prize
in a national choral competition in the Ithaca Choral Festival. Several
of her arrangements have been published by Ludwig Music Publishing Co.,
and several piano duets by the Boston Music Co. She is
Assistant Professor of Music at Cuyahoga Community College and was honored
in 1989 as one of the Professional Women of Achievement in Ohio by the
YWCA.
