Ralph Turek received his DMA degree in composition from the University of Cincinnati in 975, where he was a student of Paul Cooper. He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the University of Maryland, as well as awards from ASCAP and the Union Civic League and Arts Foundation of Chicago. Several of his works have been published and many have been performed throughout the country. He is the author of two widely used college textbooks published by McGraw-Hill. He is currently Professor of Music at the University of Akron.
