Student Mustafa Sen Wins Awards

Mustafa Y. Sen, a Ph.D. student in Professor Judit E. Puskas' group in the Department of Polymer Science recently received the Best Graduate Poster Award and a scholarship of $1,500 from the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society. The title of the poster, which he presented at the 4th Annual Student Colloquium, held at the 172nd Technical Meeting of the ACS Rubber Division (Cleveland, OH October 16-18, 2007), was "Functionalization of Polyisobutylene-Based Biomaterials using Enzymatic Catalysis"

Sen also received an award for the best poster session presented at the Society of Plastics Engineers, 8th Topical Conference on Thermoplastic Elastomers, which was held on September 17-19, 2007, Mustafa's research topic was, "Functionalization of Polyisobutylene-based Biomaterials Using Enzymatic Catalysis". The $300 award will be presented on December 10 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
