POLYMER ENGINEERING ACADEMIC CENTER

The Polymer Engineering Academic Center houses the student, faculty, and administrative offices of the Department of Polymer Engineering and Rubber Division Offices of the American Chemical Society. The three-floor building is home to more than 140 post-doctoral and engineering students, and faculty and staff. The center has a 134-seat lecture hall, distance-learning classrooms, a student calculation and general purpose classroom, as well as 15 faculty offices, 14 student offices, and conference, seminar and lunch rooms. The 37,770 square feet Center is an annex to the Sidney L. Olson Research Center. Construction began in April 2000 and the building was dedicated on June 8, 2001. The Polymer Engineering Academic Center was the first building dedicated as part of the New Landscape for Learning Plan, a $200 million plan including new buildings, improved campus access, and the creation of inviting, park-like open spaces.
