College Goals for 2006
- 1) Search for, and find, an outstanding new dean.
- 2) Hold successful "50th Anniversary of PhD" events.
- 3) Launch domestic graduate student recruiting program
including "Focus on Women".
- 4) Obtain Interim Wright Center Space and install equipment.
- 5) Expand Global Polymer Academy programs into polymer
training- beginning with UA Medina University Center.
- 6) Obtain further Federal Earmark for National Polymer Innovation Center.
- 7) Fill open positions, especially Goodyear Chair.
There are 4 major strategic priorities within the college:
- 1) To recruit and retain the best possible students (new initiative on recruiting women who are U.S. citizens).
- 2) To recruit and retain the best possible faculty
- 3) To implement the Wright Center of Innovation award and find temporary space until the new building is completed in 2009 (UA commitment of 2:1 matching funds to State of Ohio. The State funding is ~$6 million.)
- 4) Increase alumni giving, including gifts for the 50th anniversary celebration of UA's first PhD program.
