The Institute of Polymer Engineering is part of the internationally renowned polymer program at the University of Akron. We offer the expertise of some of the world’s foremost polymer engineers, and our laboratories have a wide variety of highly specialized equipment needed for polymer processing, characterization, analysis and testing.

The institute serves the polymer industry as a confidential, objective and affordable source of technical assistance. Consulting can be arranged with faculty in the Department of Polymer Engineering. We help our clients determine the optimum processing conditions, improve quality control and analyze material properties. The institute provides an instrumented pilot plant environment for that step prior to production. By working with the institute, client companies same time and money by moving quickly from problem to solution.
