Every year, members of PESO elect officers for the following positions:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Past President
• External Affairs Coordinator
• Coordinator

For the year 2006-07, elections will be held in May 2006. All members of PESO are encouraged to become candidates for these positions. All candidates are expected to know the duties of the position they are running for.

Below are the duties of PESO officers:

1. President:
1. Call to order and preside all meetings.
2. Coordinate events and guide the activities of committees.
3. Keep attendance and voting records at meetings and notify executive board of any short comings in attendance
2. Vice President
1. Assume the duties of President in the latter’s absence
2. Supervise the activities of committees and report to board in meetings.
3. Notify members of next meeting
3. Treasurer
1. Present the budget of PESO within to the first 2 meetings to the board.
2. Keep accurate accounts of all finances and present them at board meetings.
3. Submit the annual funding request to the University of Akron and follow up on it.
4. Secretary
1. Keep permanent record of all board and general meetings in the form of minutes.
2. Prepare agenda for meetings and present them at the start of each meeting upon communicating with the President.
5. Past President
1. Give advice to the board on organizational and financial matters.
6. Executive Board
1. Consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Past President
2. Shall enforce the constitution and correct any breach thereof.
7. External Affairs Coordinator
1. Form and keep communications with local, national and international organizations in accordance with the mission of PESO.
2. Propose and lead the organization of career related activities upon consulting with the board.
8. Coordinators
1. Help in the planning and realization of PESO activities.
2. At least 3 coordinators shall work in PESO.
3. Movie Night Coordinator: Will arrange Movie Nights and will transfer duties to other willing board members in absence
4. Web Coordinator: Will update activities, pictures and other material to be placed on the PESO website and submit them to the department. May partially transfer duties to other willing board members in absence.
