Welcome to the Western Reserve District 5 Web-Site. We hope that students participating in the District Science Day will find this site useful for preparing their projects. The Western Reserve District 5 Science Day is one of the 16 District Science Fairs held in Ohio each spring under the Ohio Junior Academy on Science. This year The University of Akron's Department of Polymer Science will host the 62nd Annual Western Reserve District Science Day. Students in grades 5-12 are encouraged to prepare projects in one of the following areas: behavioral and social sciences, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computers, earth and space sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, mathematics, medicine, microbiology, physics, or zoology. Based on the results of the competition, students may be given the opportunity to proceed on to the State Science Day and Buckeye Science & Engineering Fair.
