Joe Frato: Head Coach
Having founded the club team in 2005, Coach Joe Frato has moved from being President, to being the first Head Coach of the Akron Zips. Frato graduated from The University of Akron in 2006 with a degree in Fire Protection and is currently applying to  Paramedic School .  Coach Frato also has experience playing for almost two decades in some of the most elite programs in Cleveland, OH.

Kevin W. Collard: Assistant Coach
Kevin W. Collard ; a Canadian born hockey player with 30 plus years experience has joined the Akron hockey coaching staff.  Kevin comes to us after a life time of hockey at every level and coaching several youth teams ranging form 12 year olds to pre-high school players. With a USA Hockey level five coaching degree we expect that his international hockey knowledge of offensive, defensive and tactical hockey strategies will help develop our players and have a lasting effect on the development of our team.
