Posters Assignment

Whatever the grade level or content, a visual aide will help you as the teacher to organize content, concepts or procedures for your students. The key message of the poster should be "readable" from at least the center of the classroom (12-16 feet). The poster should be "easy" on the eyes.

This poster assignment has three components.

  1. Create a poster related to your teaching subject area. Check the Ohio Department of Education website (http://www.ode.state.oh.us/) for general and specific curriculum goals and objectives.

    The poster size is to be no smaller than 14" x 20" and no larger than 22" x 28".

    The poster must contain the following elements:

    bullet   an illustration (traced or hand drawn, or a photograph)
    bullet   lettering
    bullet   elements of color and texture

     

  2. Complete the poster write-up document to identify and describe the design elements and design principles you incorporated into your poster.
  3. Print and complete the self-assessment of the evaluation criteria to be sure you have the required components.

Attach the self-assessment page to the poster and also print your name on the back of your poster.

Attach the completed poster write-up using the naming convention:  yourlastname-poster-writeup.doc

In class you will take a photograph of your poster using a digital camera. The photograph will eventually be added to your portfolio page on your web site.
