The 2008 Jay Ladd Distinguished Service Award winner this year was Ms. Marsha Krautter-Suter from the University of Toledo. She was an outstanding candidate and was honored for over 15 years of service to ALAO and the greater academic community in Ohio.
CALL FOR 2009-2010 NOMINATIONS
The Academic Library Association of Ohio seeks candidates for its Executive Board elections that are coming up for the 2009-2010 term of office. The nomination period will open now and will close in late January or as soon as we get a sufficient number of candidates for each position. As ALAO's Past President responsibility for the next set of board position elections falls to me and the nominating committee for the upcoming 2009-2010 term. Among the positions that will be elected this time are the following: Three (3) Board Members at Large - will serve a two year term in office... One (1) ALAO Treasurer - will serve a two year term in office... One (1) ALAO Vice President/President-Elect - will serve 1 year as Vice President, 1 year as ALAO President, 1 year as ALAO Past President... The ALAO election period will take place electronically in mid-February 2009 and be open to ALAO members only. You may nominate yourself or someone else ONLY after obtaining their agreement to participate in the election. If you are thinking about running for an ALAO position but would like more information on a specific position, duties, time in office, or other details.
