Quarterly Report

The deadline for proposals for the 2009 ALAO Conference is Friday April 17, 2009. We currently have 68 presentation proposals and 16 poster session proposals. The Planning Committee has selected a list of keynote speakers and hopes to make an announcement soon. We are also seeking to identify one or more prototypes for making selected conference programming available digitally.

The Communications Editor and I are working on ways to use Facebook to publicize events, both by sending out Facebook emails to members of the ALAO group and by creating Facebook ‘events.’

I’ve updated the ALAO web site to include information about the Newsletter, Spring workshops, and call for proposals. Also, several people have noted that the link to an archive of the web site tends to pop up fairly prominently in Google when people search for ALAO – I have now installed an automatic re-direct to the current ALAO web site.

The Annual Retreat will take place on June 22/23 at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, OH.
