Annual Report

Board meetings for 2008/09 were held on November 21, 2008; February 20, 2009; and April 17, 2009. The September meeting was canceled. I attended all except the April meeting, and recorded minutes. I also recorded minutes for Day 2 of the 2008 Leadership Retreat, as the incoming Secretary. Peggy Rector recorded minutes for the April meeting. Thank you, Peggy.
As a member of the Archives Task Force, Peggy also prepared a report summarizing discussions and goals for revising the archives/record retention policy for the association. Given that so much of the records are now posted only on the Web site, including all reports for Board meetings, digital archiving and a revision of the retention policy is essential. Unfortunately, no minutes were recorded of the Annual Business Meeting during the 2008 Conference. I did not realize that the business meeting would be held during the breakfast, prior to the start of the first conference session, and was unable to be present at that time. My recommendation is to hold the annual business meeting during the conference luncheon, so all members at the conference will be in attendance.
